1 Year Ago Today...CHI was Born!

I can't believe it's already been a year! On this day last year, I launched my blog, Cozy Home Interiors! See my original post, here. Where does the time go!

I've had so much fun getting to know many of you, and have made some great connections along the way. I even connected with an old friend, from junior high, who's also a fellow blogger. I hadn't heard from her since 9th grade, and she recognized my picture from a post on Emily Clark and contacted me via email. How cool is that!!

It's amazing how super supportive and welcoming the blogging community has been! Ya'll have made me a Proud Recipient of the Liebster Blog Award and I've been asked by my fellow friend and blogger, Samm at Little House in Big D, to answer some fun, "getting to know you questions", about myself. I've partied and "linked up" until I was blue in the face, and was honored by Pamela to have our home showcased on her blog, Inspired at Felicity. It's been so much fun connecting with so many of ya'll this past year, my fellow bloggers and friends!

I love hearing from all of you, and each time I sit down to open my mail for the day, I get a little excited. It's like opening a present on Christmas day. Silly I know, but it's true. I look forward to hearing from you and love reading all your emails!

Having my blog has been so rewarding and I'm looking forward to another fun, creative, and inspiring year ahead! Thanks for welcoming me with open arms, and all your support! There were times where I felt I was just out there in blogland talking to myself, but now, I can say, I feel the love! So thank you!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

They don't make them like this anymore..

Out and about this weekend..I stumbled across this beautiful vintage album from the late 1800's. What a beauty. They just don't make things like this anymore, and I'm not exactly sure why??

What a beautiful photo album in a crushed velvet with metal lettering on the front, and metal clasp.

I love everything about it, and would like to make one of my own. I am certain Hobby Lobby or Michael's doesn't carry anything like this. They'd make a killing if they did!

Pretty neat..you agree? I love vintage finds like this!!

Feelin' Green

Yesterday I had a super productive day at home! I FINALLY had the chance to finish painting our outdoor rockers and bench. Looks so much better, and feels better. Now, just need to find some cute pillows to tie it all in. Hopefully will find something by this weekend, and share with you next week.

Although no pillows to be found, I did score some great looking plants for SUPER cheap at Lowe's. I love plants and they're great fillers for corners in your home, or anywhere really. They also don't cost much, and are a great way to warm up any space.

Check it out...not bad..right? Super excited about the price:)

{I'm thinking of getting a black urn for this one}

{$5.00 @ Lowe's.. WHOO WHOO}

I also found this beautiful pot outside in the garden area for $5.00. I'm going to try super hard to keep this beauty alive. With the Texas heat, hopefully I won't burn it up.

{What a beauty..and for $5.00..love creeping jenny}

Here are some other plants of ours just around the house. Again, they're great fillers and even if you don't have a green thumb, they're pretty easy to manage. The key is not over watering. I water all my plants about once a week.

I've got this enormous dracaena in my den, which doesn't get a whole lot of light. This plant is great because it doesn't need much sunlight. I water him about once a week, and like to wipe down the foliage with a damp paper towel. This keeps the foliage looking purty.

{Can't remember this one's name}

This beautiful ficus I've had since my first apartment back in 2003. It was given to me by one of my dad's old coworkers, and it's been with me ever since. It's stayed with the folks several times because it's been on the verge of death, and they've managed to nurse it back. I finally transplanted the pot after 10 years, and the thing got mites or something. I had to move it outside, and since then, the mites have died off, and it's thriving. Ficus trees love being outside, but they need to be brought back in when it's cold.

{Will need to repot it again after this Summer is over..growing shroomies}

Hope ya'll are having a great week!

Any plants you would recommend that are easy to maintain and take care of??
Love to hear from you guys:)
